Codes and Convention

 

Main image- it is usually of a model showing her nail in the center of the magazine 

Masthead – Is the title block for the magazine, usually this is the most eye catching convention on the page and has to be distinct. In most fashion magazines it is given bold or in bright colors.

Tag line– Categorizing the reader’s interest in the magazine by using a word or phrase to engage them

Cover line- usually bold and eye catching text is written with a lot of different cover lines.    

The colors are conventionally bright and bold

Menu- the list of contents inside the page

Pugs- used to catch the readers eye they are placed either on the top right or left corner of the magazine. 

Colour scheme- is simple and usually consists of mainly two to three colours 

Issue date- it gives the audience information about how recent or old the magazine is
